Chapter 1: Offlight Isle
70 years after the flashback...Lenage, a now 90 year-old man who had a bushy white beard, white hair, and blue-white eyes, woke up from the tribe leader hut. He had been the leader of Offlight Isle's only village for 70 years. In his many years, people had always tried to defeat him in a Shadow Duel. With his 3 Dark Guardian Monsters- Darkness Neosphere, Raviel, Lord of Phantasms, and Zombyra the Dark, he had never been defeated. There were only a few people in the village who knew the correct way of dueling, and they had Decks, like Lenage's Pure Deck. Zenka, the 62 year-old man who had recently challenged him, was not one of these men.
Lenage took out his cane and hobbled to the Shadow Duel arena. Zenka also had 3 Dark Guardians. The referee and Zenka were waiting for " Elder" Lenage. " Elder, you have no chance of defeating me! " Zenka said. " We will see about that... " Lenage replied thoughtfully. The referee was Lenage's own son, Grewit. Zenka had reason to believe that Grewit was not the man Lenage thought he was. Zenka had spittled out nonsense about Grewit being part of the Shadow Police, which was impossible, since the Dark Cataclysm of 70 years ago seperated the world outside of Offlight Isle from them.
" The two competitors will have 3 Shadow Points. Whoever loses the 3 Shadow Points win. Now, let us begin this Shadow Duel! " Grewit said. " Well Elder, since I am the challenger, I shall go first. I summon Dark Guardian- Prime Material Dragon! " Zenka shouted as he held out a Prime Material Dragon card. The Prime Material Dragon manifested before Lenage's eyes, into a dark purple version of the great dragon. Lenage was not unfazed- he had seen this many a time.
" Dark Guardian- Darkness Neosphere, come to me! " Lenage rasped as his Darkness Neosphere came to form. The two monsters had an aura of darkness around themselves. Prime Material Dragon clawed at Darkness Neosphere. Darkness Neosphere lost six of it's 40 stars. Darkness Neosphere fired a beam of darkness, at Prime Material Dragon, making it lose 10 of it's 24 stars. " You fight well, old man... " Zenka said. " However, my Prime Material Dragon shall end your Neosphere with a jet of darkness! " Zenka said as he took out a crowbar.
" Super Attack- Jet of Darkness! " Zenka yelled. The Prime Material Dragon fired a jet of darkness at Darkness Neosphere. Lenage's cane abosrbed the darkness, and the cane fired the darkness back tenfold, obliterating the dragon. Zenka lost one of his 3 Shadow Points. " It ends here. " Lenage rasped as he held out his two other Guardians-Zombyra and Raviel. They manifested from the card. " No... Lenage, you're using of your legendary- " Zenka tried to say.
" Triple Attack- Darkness of Dueling! " Lenage interrupted. The three monsters' cards covered their mouths. The card's shadow loomed over Zenka. Zenka was paralyzed, and he couldn't summon a monster to defend himself. 2 of Lenage's Shadow Points were deducted, since that was the amount he was going to destroy. The shadows opened, and a great column of darkness surround Zenka, obliterating the rest of his Shadow Points.
" The winner is Elder Lenage. " Grewit said. " Good job Zenka, but you must learn to be quicker. I am almost 30 years older than you, and I pulled my cards out faster than you blinked. " Lenage lectured. " I'll be sure to do that. Could you come with me, though? " Zenka asked. " You still think my son is involved with the Shadow Police, eh? Well, let me hear what you have to say... " Lenage replied as the two left the field.
Grewit made sure there were no villagers around. Then, he took out a walkie-talkie. " Sgt. Joey? Yes, this is Grewit. Zenka suspects something, but the old man is too naive to see that I am cooperating with the Shadow Police. Yes, I have my Deck. You'll be sending Commander Jesse and Commander Pika to bar the doors? They'd better have their Decks, some of the villagers have their own. Their religion is correct, astoudingly. I understand, Sgt. Joey. We shall be sending Lenage to the Light Realm. Goodbye Sgt. Joey. " Grewit said. " You have no idea how right you are, Zenka... fufufufu... " Grewit mutttered.

Rules of Shadow Dueling
Basic Rules
Shadow Dueling takes quite a bit in this story. Two players face off with one or more Dark Guardians. The Guardian's Attack divided by 100 is the Guardian's number of Stars, or health. Whenever a Dark Guardian loses it's Stars, it is destroyed, and the player who had the Guardian loses a Shadow Point. A player has Shadow Points equal to the number of Dark Guardians they have. There is no limit to the number of Dark Guardians a person can have.
Attack Rules
Special Attacks, like Lenage's Triple Attack- Darkness of Dueling activate right after a Guardian is destroyed. Each Special Attack has a cost. Right before the attack is executed, the opposing player becomes immbolized. They can summon a Guardian to protect themselves if they are fast enough. The Guardian is not destroyed if this becomes the case. Super Attacks, like Zenka's Prime Material Dragon's Jet of Darkness, do not have a cost. If the attack goes through, the opposing monster is destroyed, but the monster who executed the Super Attack loses half of it's original Stars. A regular attack deals damage equal to the number of Stars the monster has in real life Yugioh.
Weapon Rules
Each player has a weapon. Lenage has a cane, and Zenka a Crowbar. Lenage's cane can absorb darkness, not only if Shadow Duels but in other situations too. Zenka's Crowbar.... well, you'll just have to find that out on your own!
